Formation of Simple Sentences by using Infinitive :-

Infinitive – Verb के first form से पहले ‘to’ का प्रयोग करने से प्राय: Infinitive का‌ निर्माण होता हैं तथा इसका हिंदी अर्थ लेने पर क्रिया के अन्त में ना, ने, नी देखने को मिलता हैं।
Example –
(i) To play is a good
(ii) I want to see the Tajmahal.

Infinitive का‌ प्रयोग करके दो या दो से अधिक Simple sentences को मिलाकर एक नया simple sentence बनाना –

Infinitive का‌ प्रयोग करके हम दो या दो से अधिक Simple sentences को मिलाकर एक नया simple sentence तब बनाते हैं जब हमें निम्नलिखित परिस्थितियां दिखाई दें –

(i) दिये हुए वाक्यो के subject प्राय: एक समान हो।

(ii) दिये हुए वाक्यो के Finite Verb अलग-अलग हो।

(iii) दिये हुए वाक्यो में से किसी एक वाक्य से उद्देश्य का बोध हो या दिये हुए वाक्यो में reason -result का सम्बन्ध हो।

हम उस वाक्य के Verb को Infinitive बनाते हैं जिससे उद्देश्य या result दिखाई दें।

Note – यदि दिये हुए वाक्य मे reason – result का‌ सम्बन्ध हो और reason दिखाने वाले वाक्य में very का प्रयोग हो तो वाक्यो को जोड़ते समय हम प्राय: very को too में change कर देते हैं ।

Examples –

(i) Ravi ran fast. He wanted to win the first prize.
Simple – Ravi ran fast to win the first prize.
(ii) Ravi had no sufficient time. He could not prepare well for the examination.
Simple – Ravi had no sufficient time to prepare well for the examination.

(iii ) I went to station. My object was to see off my brother.
Simple – I went to station to see off my brother.

(iv) Ravi is very old. He can not run fast.
Simple – Ravi is too old to run fast.

(v) He went to Varanasi. He wanted to carry on his studies.
Simple – He went to Varanasi to carry on his studies.

(vi) This question is very difficult. I can not solve it.
Simple – This question is too difficult to solve it.

(vii) Man works day and night. He has to support his family.
Simple – Man works day and night to support his family.

(viii) He has three sons. He has to educate them.

Simple – He has three sons to be educated.

(ix) He has three daughters. He has to marry them.
Simple – He has three daughters to be married. 

(x) I had no money. I could not give any body.
Simple – I had no money to give any body.

Simple – Hari remained very serious in his studies right from the very beginning of the session to top the Board’s examination.

(xii) He wanted to educate his son. He sent him to America.
Simple – He send his son to America to be educated.

(xiii) My uncle is quite weak. He can not go for a morning walk.
Simple – My uncle is too weak to go for a morning walk.
